UN International Day of Peace, 2010

September 21, 2010 marks yet another important day in the lives of every individual on the globe as we celebrate the International Day of Peace Vigil to observe the 'Global Cease Fire'

Ghana also marks the founders day as each and every Ghanaian joined hands to celebrate the 101 birth day of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.

The African Centre for Peace Building celebrating the United Nations international Day of Peace, September 21, 2010 at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology-Kumasi. The event as hosted by Peace Fellowship Network-KNUST.

The event is to show the Centre's commitment toward the call of the United Nations on observe 21st September of every year as the International Day for making peace.

Participants were drawn from various department, social, religious and political groups on campus. The event was Chaired by Rev. Dr. Paul Boafo, Protestant Chaplain-KNUST.

The KNSUT-PFN Chapter President-Mr. Prosper Ametefe welcome participants and also called on AFCOPB to institute measures to motivate its volunteers in the up-coming volunteers programme (Health Mission Project, December 2010 and Rural Peace Project-2011).

The Director (Peace and Conflicts) of AFCOPB and Coordinator-General-PFNI, Mr. Emmanuel K. Senyo Kumedzina addressed the section with a call on the Government and the Tertiary Education Institutions Council to have a second look at Ghana's educational system. He was touching on graduate unemployment situation in the country and said, 'Mr. Chairman, graduate unemployment is increasing at alarming rate.
